I am a Registered freelance Dietitian and practitioner Senr registrant, passionate about the importance of Nutrition in Sport and Exercise and the enhanced health and performance benefits of a good diet for all athletes both elite and recreational. Increasingly, evidence based nutritional interventions for athletes now results in the difference between winning and losing that can be measured in fractions of a second and give competitive advantage. My daughter was a GB and UVA/USA rower so I really understand hands on about working with athletes.
I studied for an MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Oxford Brookes University. I now work with athletes and teams from many different sports and at different skill levels. From elite lightweight and junior GB rowers, snow boarders and lacrosse players, academy footballers, and recreational athletes.
This qualification is supported by my previous academic, professional skills and qualifications including a degree in nutrition, state registration in dietetics, an MBA, teaching, coaching, mentoring, and marketing qualifications. Having worked in the NHS for many years as a dietitian and senior manager I understand the importance of good communication and team work.
I am an associate lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, write for a variety of publications and supervise and mentor students.
My objective is always to give a personalised approach translating evidence-based practice into practical, easy to read and understand information.
It is a privilege to work with athletes, teams and individuals to maximize their performance through good nutrition.
